Zooey Deschanel. Actress. Singer. Designer?

I absolutely fell in love with Zooey as Jess in the hilarious sitcom New Girl. However, before this career defining role, she had supporting roles in films Almost Famous, The Good Girl, Elf, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Failure to Launch, Yes Man and (500) Days of Summer. Quite an impressive list. But this kooky Californian truly found international fame in the form of Jessica Day. A teacher looking for a new apartment after breaking up with her boyfriend moves in with three guys, and becomes the 'new girl' in the loft. On top of all the awards she has won and been nominated for, Zooey also finds time to do music with M. Ward, creating the unique sound of She & Him. So what's next for this accomplished star? Fashion, designing a capsule collection for Tommy Hilfiger.

The actress has created 16 dresses, 14 of which will launch at Macy's on April 14, with the full collection arriving on on April 21. "They are Sixties-inspired short dresses," Hilfiger noted. "There is a lot of red, white and blue, but done in a Zooey way with interesting detail and flirty fabrics. They are very Jean Shrimpton and Twiggy - really from the Sixties in London. That's not something we would normally put in our regular sportswear line - maybe we'd be inspired by the Sixties for the runway, but it's a new way to look at fun, American classics."

The dresses are each named after one of Deschanel's friends, and will range in price between $98 and $199. "I am a fashion fanatic, and I am always looking for new ways to incorporate vintage, feminine pieces into my own wardrobe," Deschanel told WWD. "Tommy and I share many of the same inspirations - old-school music, classic films and old Hollywood icons - and his guidance during the design process helped to put a really unique twist on each piece."

AND, not only has Miss Deschanel designed the clothes, she has also starred in the advertising campaign. Go Zooey!
